MARIE ANTOINETTE AIRUT
Marie Antoinette Airut is one of the two firm’s Founding Partners. She has been a member of the Beirut Bar Association since 1975 and an Assistant Professor of French and Lebanese Commercial and Corporate Law at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Saint Joseph University of Beirut since 1978.
Marie Antoinette Airut is an active member of the parliamentary sub-committee for the revision of the Lebanese Code of Commerce and member of several ministerial committees in charge of reviewing and modernizing the Lebanese legal system and practice ethics.
Marie Antoinette Airut obtained a Bachelor in Philosophy from l’Ecole des Lettres in Beirut. She then obtained a Bachelor Degree in French and Lebanese Private Law from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Saint Joseph University in Beirut before obtaining a Masters (Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies) in Business and Corporate Law (Droit des Affaires) from Panthéon - Assas University in Paris, France. She is fluent in Arabic, French and English, and has some knowledge of German through a one-year course at Beirut Goethe Institute.
Marie Antoinette Airut advises in a large number of fields, mainly in the areas of corporate law and practice, mergers and acquisitions, banking, legal and financial structuring and restructuring, construction and project management, hospitality, media, commercial agency, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, intellectual property and real estate. During the last five years, she has acted in two ICC (Lebanon and Paris) cases, as a sole Arbitrator in the one instance and as a Chair in the other; she acted as well as co- arbitrator in three ad hoc domestic arbitration cases in Lebanon.
